Dr. Rick Sibbel retired on March 31, 2018, from his previous leadership position at Merck Animal Health where he was Executive Director of US Technical Services of the Food Animal Business Unit. He is now the President and CEO of Executive Veterinary and Health Solutions LLC. He is a consultant to the Animal Health (AH) and Human Health (HH) professions in Antimicrobial Resistance and Antibiotic Stewardship. He also works as a consultant in Antibiotic Use policy for AH interests. He also is a consultant in bio-innovation technologies that are helping to evolve animal agriculture into precision agriculture systems.
In his previous role as Executive Director of US Technical Services of the Food Animal Business Unit at Merck Animal Health, he managed 52 field veterinarians, PhD animal scientists and 2 additional MAH support staff. These teams are the field based technical personnel supporting the cattle, swine and poultry businesses in the US. Dr. Sibbel specialized in vaccine and pharmaceutical product development, food animal and food supply issues, antibiotic stewardship issues and food animal veterinary educational issues. In addition to managing the technical services teams, Dr. Sibbel managed research projects and product development studies comparing licensed animal health products and extensions of product utility in the US Food Animal Business.
