Did you know antimicrobials are important in producing corn and other plants? Have you considered what happens to the antimicrobials and resistant organisms in the wastewater effluent of hospitals? Did you know that use of antimicrobials for growth promotion in US livestock has not been permitted since 2017? Have you considered the One Health aspects of AMR with our pets in our households or the mulch in our gardens?
Join the next Annual NIAMRRE One Health AMR IPE program to explore these and other issues that will challenge your paradigms of antimicrobial resistance and stewardship and help put One Health into action through daily activities and responsibilities. Participants connect across the national through this virtual program.
Interprofessional Education (IPE) is “when individuals from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration…” (WHO, 2010). IPE has four core competencies that assist individuals in building their skills to effectively collaborate across sectors. The One Health IPE Program brings individuals from the animal, human and plant sectors to learn about IPE in more detail and apply it to a variety of AMR case studies.
The program seeks representation from all the One Health Sectors and individuals at a variety of career stages. Individuals should be active in the human, animal, environment, or plant sectors and want to learn more about how we can work together to combat antimicrobial resistance. Sessions are held virtually and allow participation regardless of location within North America.
Registration is open, but not limited to:
